The PTA was established when Tokyo Metropolitan Kokusai High School was opened in April 1989. The necessity and objects are retained as they were described at inception by the first principal, Tsuneaki Ohtaka. Characterizing a variety of circumstances, a great number of PTA members and students are returnees from extended periods overseas, internationals residing in Tokyo, or September and January enrollees.
In cooperation with the faculty, PTA activities promote and support objectives for education and the school image in line with administrative goals set out by Principal Mariko Urabe. We aim for appropriate Kokusai PTA activities that reflect our advantageous international attitude and the diversity of parent and guardian backgrounds.
In addition, we have an opportunity as parents to influence our children by adding finishing touches to their high school careers. This is not limited to providing assistance towards enhancing school, but has enriching exchange and friendship among members and friendship in mind as well. Relationships established through Kokusai PTA continue to be cherished as we move around the world. Centered on our respective PTA committees, striving to serve energetically in a positive and participatory manner, we aim for a fun-filled PTA experience.
Preserving the pioneer spirit passed down since the School’s establishment, we hope that reciprocal cooperation with the faculty we will allow us to undertake PTA activities suited to our day and age.
